About Me

Dr. Rajiv Datta is a surgical oncologist and chairman of the department of surgery at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Valley Stream, New York. A graduate of the University of Bombay, Dr. Rajiv Datta has more than three decades of medical experience.

In addition to completing internships in both Bombay and Brooklyn, Dr. Datta has undertaken numerous residencies and fellowships at notable institutions such as the Tata Memorial Hospital, the Royal College of Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Prior to his position at South Nassau Communities Hospital, Dr. Datta served as a surgical oncologist for head and neck oncology at Maimonides Medical Center and Coney Island Hospital, both in Brooklyn, New York.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rajiv Datta has received many honors and recognitions. In 1997, he won the fellowship for Best Surgical Resident at the Maimonides Medical Center. In 2009, he received the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer’s Outstanding Achievement Award. Most recently, he was an honoree at the 12th Annual India Republic Day Commemoration in Hempstead, in Nassau County.
